The Rise of the Guardians fandom has changed so much. I almost feel like i’m not a part of it anymore.

(It really has changed. I’m so sorry you feel this way… it might bounce back some come summer, but I understand. I hope you stay, but if you don’t, I hope you stay safe and well.)

It has changed yes, but all fandoms change.  All fandoms have their down periods and up periods.  Though it’s doubtful that we’d have another movie, we still have the books to look forward to and I believe it will bounce back when we have something new to talk about and discuss and draw inspiration from.  We’re pretty lucky that we still have source material being made, because some fandoms have one book or one movie at that’s it.

Also the fans that are still here, which are more than I think people realize, have done a pretty damn good job keeping the fandom alive.  There are more AUs than I can count and fanart, fanfic, cosplay, crafts, gifs and edits.  We have our shipping weeks going on.  There are plenty of RP blogs out there keeping it going.  Just because we’re smaller, doesn’t mean we’re gone.  And I truly believe the fandom isn’t going to die any time soon.

To be honest I’m surprised that this fandom is so alive right now, six months out of the gate. But you guys have done a really great job keeping your imaginations afloat. And I mean I’m new to ROTG, so maybe other people like me will come in six months late with starbucks and inadvertently keep the fandom alive with their new-found interest.

And I realize I just said I was new to ROTG, but I’m not new to this kind of fandom issue. I think some of the change is necessary to keep this fandom alive. I mean it’s one movie and a few books. If we don’t learn to change and adapt, then we’re going to get bored and ROTG will get stale.

ROTG will pull through, don’t lose hope ^_^
